From The Times UK, the presumed ETA terrorist Elena Beloki was granted bail to have In vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatment while serving a 13-year jail term, causing outrage among victims of the Basque separatist group's 40 year campaign against the Spanish government, which has resulted in the deaths of over 800 people in Spain and France.

The question that comes to my mind first is, not about the justice of releasing a woman from prison who was accussed of financially supporting a terrorist organisation, but why is a 47 year old woman and her partner attempting to have a child in the first place?  The trend in the west towards egotistical, selfish behaviour by people with an over exagerated sense of entitlement, in this case striving to have a child in lieu of adopting, is far more important an issue than terrorism.

Of course, we should be free to do what we want with our bodies and our lives, but we should also consider what might be best for the community and our brothers and sisters around the globe.  Who here is strong enough to forego their own personal desires for the greater good of the human race?
